Honestly, I think part of my "intriguement" (is that a word?) with the town is it's funky name: SAWPIT! Very Happy

Anyone have any comments about Sawpit, Colorado? This can be the official Sawpit discussion thread. Wink

BTW, what exactly is a "sawpit"? Sounds like something sawdust is dropped into?

Not sure what a sawpit exactly is. Your guess may be correct.

After looking on wikipedia, it appears Sawpit only has 25 residents according to the 2000 U.S. Census! Smile

I'm not sure if a population of 25 qualifies as being called a "town." Razz It is a nice little place though, and we actually keep an eye on rentals there and in Placerville in case we move to Telluride and are unable to get into the employee housing.

Here are a couple of pics that I took of Sawpit.

Whoa! Don't tell the people of Sawpit that they aren't a town. They might be offended! Razz

And this is Colorado ... 25 people makes a town. Heck, 4 people make up the town of St. Elmo! Wink

It would be very peaceful to live in Sawpit or maybe even Rico. So beautiful, too. Very Happy

I should try to connect with the mayor of Sawpit and have him give me a tour of the town. I could put it on this web site! Very Happy

What do you think? Smile

Does Sawpit really have a mayor? That would be interesting, but the tour would take like 3 seconds. Razz
